Thanks to your actions, we have finally repealed NM's dangerous 1969 abortion ban by passing the Respect NM Women and Families Act!

TALKING POINTS

  • The Respect NM Women and Families Act will provide protection for women who have made a personal decision about abortion based on their own faith, beliefs, or conscience.

  • When Roe v Wade falls, the 1969 abortion ban will allow a panel of doctors to decide for a woman, regardless of her own faith, beliefs, or conscience.

  • We can hold our own moral views on abortion and still trust a women to make that decision for herself, according to her personal faith and values.

  • New Mexicans must work together to preserve conscience protections for ALL New Mexico families.

MORE INFORMATION

The NM House voted 40 -30 on February 19, 2019 to pass SB 10, the Respect NM Women and Families Act. Because the legislative session is completely online, we’re using this easy tool to help you connect with your NM State Representative and thank them that we no longer worry that the state, healthcare corporations, or our own medical provider, will have the power to force us to choose between our faith and safe, legal healthcare.

Once you enter your address in the form above, the name of your NM State Representative should appear. If your Representative voted against SB 10, you’ll be thanking the bill sponsor, Rep. Micaela Lara Cadena. You can edit the letter inside the box if you want, and add one of our talking points, then click the button to send your email. Make sure to include your phone number so we can alert you when our other priority bills are up for a vote. Thank you!
